Is Therapy Confidential?
Confidentiality is an ethical responsibility of all psychologists. Information about our work together is not shared with anyone else without your written consent. I follow the ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association in terms of confidentiality. It may be useful for me to consult with your medical doctor from whom you receive treatment. In this case, communication is established only after you have signed a release of information allowing such collaboration. Insurance companies require a diagnosis and may request certain information about your treatment prior to authorizing payment to cover the cost of treatment. I will release this information only with your signed consent. Some people opt to pay privately in order to avoid this disclosure of information.
Do You Accept Insurance?
We currently only accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois or out of pocket payment.
We do not accept Medicaid or Medicare.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
The first appointment is an opportunity for you to meet me, feel comfortable, begin identifying the reason(s) that led you to making the appointment, and formulate goals you wish to accomplish. Once that is determined, I can help you decide which method(s) would be most effective for you to meet your goals. I work collaboratively and value your input.
